Welcome to Acme Pizza & Pasta Co., their first full-service location in the beautifully restored Vendome Block in Sunnyside. It’s giving cozy Italian vibes, a carb-forward menu, and major community feel.

The heart of Acme still beats through their dough—modern Roman-style pizza made with a touch of olive oil for that perfectly crisp, light base. But this new spot takes things further with handmade pasta dishes, shareable plates, big mains, and desserts that will be a hit.
Expect squid ink tagliatelle, short rib-stuffed mezzelune and a lineup of pizzas that range from the classic Margherita to spicy sausage and white pies with wild mushrooms. Gluten-aware options? Yep. Date-night approved? 100%.
A Historic Calgary Space Gets New Life
If the spot looks familiar, that’s because it is. This is the former home of the beloved Vendome Café—a heritage building that’s been a cornerstone of Sunnyside since 1912. From a grocery store to a shoe repair shop to now your new go-to pasta spot, the building’s story just got a delicious new chapter.

Inside, it’s all about laid-back comfort. It feels like the kind of place you can grab a solo dinner at the bar or bring the whole crew for a celebration.
Acme is still holding it down at Tailgunner Brewing in Sunalta (yes, you can still grab a pizza with your pint), and their Renfrew takeout counter isn’t going anywhere. But this new flagship gives them space to do more—and gives Calgary another reason to love carbs.
