Calgary Locale - Official Contest & Sweepstakes Rules

1. Eligibility

This contest is open to legal residents of Alberta, Canada, who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees, contractors, affiliates, and immediate family or household members of Calgary Locale are not eligible to participate or win.

This contest is void where prohibited by law and subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and local laws and regulations.

2. Entry

Contests may be entered by:

  • Following @calgarylocale on Instagram and/or Facebook

  • Commenting on designated giveaway or contest posts

  • Completing a contest form on the Calgary Locale website

  • Submitting photos or content via email or direct message (for applicable contests)

The specific method of entry will be outlined on each contest page or post. Unless otherwise stated, multiple entries are not permitted and automated/bulk entries will be disqualified.

3. Winner Selection

Winners will be selected randomly, unless otherwise stated (e.g., photo contests judged on creativity and originality). All decisions made by Calgary Locale and its designated representatives are final and binding.

4. Prizes

Prizes vary by contest. Approximate retail value (ARV) of each prize will be outlined per promotion and will not exceed $500 CAD. Prizes are non-transferable and not redeemable for cash, unless explicitly stated.

Calgary Locale reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the advertised prize becomes unavailable.

5. Notification

Winners will be notified via the platform they entered (email, social media message, or direct contact via the form) within 14 days of contest closing.

If a winner cannot be contacted within 7 days, does not meet eligibility requirements, or fails to return any required declarations or releases, an alternate winner may be selected.

6. Rights Granted by Entrants

By entering, you grant Calgary Locale a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual license to use, display, reproduce, publish, and share your submitted content (if applicable), including your name, image, or likeness, in connection with marketing, advertising, editorial, and promotional purposes, in any media format, without additional compensation—unless prohibited by law.

Entrants confirm they own all rights to any content submitted and indemnify Calgary Locale against any claims arising from the submission.

7. Limitation of Liability

Calgary Locale is not responsible for:

  • Technical malfunctions, failed entries, or errors

  • Lost, late, misdirected, or incomplete entries

  • Damage to your device or data from participating in the contest

By participating, you agree to release and hold harmless Calgary Locale, its partners, and affiliates from any claims, liability, or damages arising from or related to participation or prize use.

8. Disputes

This contest shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta. Any disputes shall be resolved individually and exclusively before a court of competent jurisdiction in Calgary, Alberta. Participants waive the right to class proceedings or claims for punitive damages.

9. Privacy

By entering, you agree that your personal information will be collected and used in accordance with Calgary Locale’s Privacy Policy and solely for administering the contest or contacting you if you win.

12. Agreement to Rules

By participating, you agree to be fully and unconditionally bound by these Official Rules. Calgary Locale reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or amend any contest at its sole discretion.
