One of Calgary’s newest neighbourhoods is getting a game-changing addition. Belmont has officially broken ground on a $71.8 million fieldhouse and library that will anchor the community with spaces to play, learn, and connect.
Located near 210 Avenue and Creekside Boulevard SW, the project broke ground this month and is set to open in 2027.
What’s Coming
⚽ 118,000 sq. ft. indoor sports complex with a full turf field for soccer, football, and more — finally giving southwest residents a place to play no matter the season.
10,000 sq. ft. Calgary Public Library complete with kids’ spaces, public seating, meeting rooms, and even an outdoor learning area.
Space for a future recreation centre and even a high school, making Belmont a true community hub.
Why It Matters
Calgary continues to grow, and so does the need for more places to gather, play, and learn. Mayor Jyoti Gondek calls the project “a commitment to building vibrant, inclusive communities for all Calgarians.”
The Belmont complex is part of the city’s long-term GamePLAN strategy to close the gap on much-needed indoor recreation facilities. This marks the 7th of 13 planned fieldhouses across Calgary, all designed to bring high-quality sports and community spaces closer to where people live.
Belmont’s Glow-Up
This project isn’t happening in isolation. Alongside the new sports complex and library, Belmont already has a new high street under construction — setting the stage for this southwest community to become one of Calgary’s most exciting neighbourhoods to live, play, and connect.
Mark it down: Opening in 2027.
