Mille Brings Italian-Inspired Elegance to Calgary’s Downtown West End
Mille is one of downtown’s most stylish new restaurants, offering a refined but welcoming take on Italian dining in Calgary’s West End. Open from morning espresso to late-night cocktails, it’s an all-day spot that blends traditional Italian dishes with modern touches.
The menu features antipasti like chicken meatballs with caper butter sauce, ricotta toast with apricot preserve, and charred calamari with crispy potatoes. You’ll also find handmade pastas like rigatoni boscaiola with roasted mushrooms and tartufata, rich beef ragù tagliatelle, and lemon butter spaghetti with crispy garlic crumbs.
The vibe is upscale yet relaxed, with a warm, softly lit interior perfect for date night or a lingering lunch. Mille might be new, but it already feels like a classic.

Dave’s Hot Chicken Heats Up East Hills with First Calgary Location
One of the most buzzed-about chicken chains in North America has officially landed in Calgary. Dave’s Hot Chicken opened its first YYC location in East Hills earlier this month, marking the start of a three-location rollout across the city.
Originally launched in a Los Angeles parking lot in 2017, the brand has earned a cult following for its juicy tenders and sliders, customizable spice levels (from mild to “Reaper” heat), and crave-worthy sides like crinkle-cut fries, slaw, and real-deal milkshakes.
The new East Hills outpost is already drawing crowds, but fans won’t have to wait long for more: a Beacon Hill location is expected to open in August, followed by a third spot on Macleod Trail later this fall.
