Hold onto your pizza-loving hats, Calgary — we’ve got some seriously saucy news!
One of our very own pizza spots, Pizza Culture, just scored a huge win by landing a spot in the Top 100 Pizzerias in the World! Yeah, you read that right — we’re talking global pizza domination here. If you haven’t been yet, consider this your official nudge (or shove) to check out Edmonton Trail and dive into some of the best pies you’ll ever eat.
So, what makes this pizza joint so special? Well, it’s all in the details.
Jeremy Hube, the mastermind behind Pizza Culture, takes his pizza craft seriously. We’re talking dough made with Double Zero flour straight from Italy. Not your everyday flour, people. And that dough? It’s fermented for over 24 hours — like giving it a spa day before it even hits the oven.
Speaking of ovens, here’s where it gets real: Pizza Culture’s oven was built by a third-generation oven builder from Naples. Yes, that Naples. The oven fires up to a scorching 900 degrees Fahrenheit, giving the pizzas those perfect crispy edges and soft, chewy centers. Pure magic.
Then, they top it with all the good stuff. San Marzano tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella, fresh basil, wild mushrooms — the works. Local and imported ingredients come together to make pizza dreams come true.
And the menu? Oh boy. Whether you’re into a classic Margherita or want to go fancy with mortadella, ricotta, and pistachio pesto, they’ve got something for every kind of pizza lover.

Also, fun fact: Pizza Culture was just inducted into the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana. That’s a big deal, folks — it means they’ve been officially recognized for serving authentic Neapolitan pizza. The only spot in Alberta to earn this title!
And out of the whole country? Only two Canadian pizzerias made the top 100. The other one? All the way over in Victoria, BC. But here in Calgary, it’s all about Pizza Culture, holding strong at number 96. Not bad for a place that only opened in 2020, right?
So, what are you waiting for? Grab a friend (or two), head over to 1114 Edmonton Trail, and treat yourself to a slice of this world-class pizza. You can thank me later — preferably with a slice of that prosciutto and arugula pie.
Stay hungry, Calgary!
