Spooky season is about to hit the water. The annual Witches Paddle is making its return to Carburn Park on Sunday, October 26, and it’s one of Calgary’s quirkiest fall traditions.
Expect a full coven of paddleboarders in costume, gliding across the calm inlet waters in pointy hats and capes. Kids, pets, and plenty of onshore spectators will be part of the mix, so it’s as much about community vibes as it is about paddling.
The event runs from 12 pm to 3 pm and is totally free to join. Organizers are asking participants to chip in donations for Stand.A.S.A., a local charity that supports victims of sexual violence and provides community education.
