Calgary’s food scene is getting a new recurring fixture, and it starts with a party. The YYC EXP Chef’s Table Series is a new year-round run of collaboration dinners pairing Calgary’s top kitchens with acclaimed guest chefs from across Canada and beyond, and event one lands Tuesday, July 14 at Bar Chouette: a Bastille Day collaboration with Chef Danny Beaulieu of Canmore’s Änkôr (No. 25 on Canada’s 100 Best 2026) cooking alongside Bar Chouette’s Duncan Ly and Colby Tio for one night only.
What the night looks like
A Parisian midsummer fête, Calgary edition. The evening opens with a summer French Chambord cocktail, then rolls into a multi-course menu blending Änkôr’s and Bar Chouette’s styles, with French wines selected by Metrovino paired to every course. In true street-festival spirit, seating is at the chef’s counter and communal long tables, so you’re up close to the cooking and elbow to elbow with fellow food people. Come ready to talk to strangers, it’s that kind of night.

Why this one matters beyond the plates
This is the first event in a year-round series that will pair Calgary’s top kitchens with acclaimed guest chefs from across Canada and beyond. Next up: Francine’s with James Beard winner Jacob Potashnick in August, and a Gatsby’s collaboration in September. If the launch is any indication, these are going to become the hardest tables in town, and Tuesday is your chance to be there for the first one.
