Calgary didn’t have a Shake Shack three months ago. By the end of August, we’ll have two.
The New York-born burger heavyweight is doubling down on Calgary with a second location opening Thursday, August 27, and this one comes with a Canadian first: the country’s first Shake Shack drive-thru.
Landing at 9253 Macleod Trail SW, the new outpost follows Shake Shack’s buzzy Alberta debut at CF Chinook Centre in May and brings its lineup of ShackBurgers, crinkle-cut fries, crispy chicken, frozen custard and shakes further south.

There are a few Alberta touches in the mix, too.
The Prairie Berry Shake will be on the menu as an Alberta exclusive, while Calgary artist Larissa Schuler has created a hand-painted mural featuring nods to both Alberta and Shake Shack that’ll be visible as you make your way through the drive-thru.
For those grabbing their burgers to go, the location will also offer a dedicated drive-thru combo designed to make ordering a little quicker. Prefer to stay awhile? There’ll be space to dine in, too.
Opening day is shaping up to be a bit of an event.
The Macleod Trail location opens at 10:30 a.m., with limited-edition merch up for grabs for the first 100 vehicles through the drive-thru.
