This one hurts a little.
PZA Parlour has announced it will be closing its doors at the end of January, bringing a decade long chapter in Calgary’s restaurant scene to a close.
In a message shared with the community, the team behind PZA cited rising rent costs and a changing operating environment as the reason for not renewing their lease. After 10 years of service, it was not an easy decision.
Ten years is no small thing in this city. PZA was the kind of place people returned to. Birthdays. Group dinners. Casual nights that stretched longer than planned. It earned a spot in many regular rotations.
Why PZA mattered
Part of what made PZA special was its deep Calgary roots. The restaurant was part of a multi generation food family whose story stretches back decades. That legacy includes the original Stromboli Inn in Kensington and Villa Firenze, which remains a longtime staple in Bridgeland. PZA was the next chapter, blending family tradition with a more modern take on pizza, and it carried that history quietly but confidently.
A message rooted in gratitude
Rather than focusing on the closure itself, the PZA team focused on the people.
They thanked guests for choosing PZA for celebrations and everyday meals, and acknowledged staff for the passion and care that shaped the restaurant over the years. While this location is closing, they shared pride in what was built and optimism about the future of the PZA brand.
It may be goodbye for now, but not necessarily goodbye forever.
One last chance to visit
As a final thank you, PZA Parlour is offering 25 percent off your bill from January 5 through January 25.
If PZA has ever been your go to pizza night, this is the moment to book a table, order your favourites, and say goodbye properly.
