Announced

Ranchman’s preparing to relocate after final year at historic location

Longtime Calgary venue Ranchman’s Cookhouse & Dancehall has announced it will relocate after one final year at its current Macleod Trail SE site.

The move is tied to a planned redevelopment of the property. Ranchman’s will continue operating through the end of 2026, with Stampede 2026 expected to be the final Stampede hosted in the current building.

The venue, established in 1972, has played a central role in Calgary’s country music and dance scene and says details about its next location will be shared ahead of the move.

YYC Flea launching new monthly vintage market

A new recurring vintage market called YYC Flea is launching this spring at The Quonset at Crossroads.

The monthly event will feature vintage clothing, handmade goods, upcycled finds and independent vendors. Organizers describe the market as a curated shopping experience with music and rotating sellers.

Dobré Café opens at Westbrook CTrain Station

A new café has opened inside Westbrook CTrain Station offering coffee, tea, smoothies and grab-and-go food.

The space includes seating for commuters and visitors, with custom coffee blends created in partnership with a local roaster. The opening is part of broader efforts to activate retail space within transit stations.

Wok & Co. opens Pacific Rim kitchen in Calgary

Wok & Co., a Pacific Rim-inspired restaurant, has opened its doors with a menu focused on wok-cooked dishes and Asian-influenced flavours.

The restaurant is currently in its early opening phase, with the team introducing the menu and refining service ahead of a full launch.

Chocoberry opens first Canadian location in Calgary

U.K. dessert and brunch concept Chocoberry has opened its first Canadian location in Calgary.

The café is known for all-day brunch, specialty coffee and plated desserts including waffle bites and San Sebastian cheesecake, alongside floral-filled interiors.

Kukuruku Crispy Chicken opens Northland Village Mall location

Fried chicken brand Kukuruku Crispy Chicken has opened a new Calgary location inside Northland Village Mall.

The food court spot serves hand-battered fried chicken, tenders and wings made with Canadian chicken and prepared fresh in store. The opening marks one of several smaller format locations the brand is rolling out across the city.

Another Kukuruku Crispy Chicken food court location is expected to open soon at Marlborough Mall.


(m)ARTkit opens craft thrift and studio space

Creative reuse concept (m)ARTkit has opened a storefront combining thrifted art supplies, studio space and workshops.

The space is designed for makers to shop materials, attend classes and earn studio time by sorting donated supplies as part of a circular model.

The Canadian Brewhouse opens new West Springs location

The Canadian Brewhouse has opened a new location in West Springs, marking its 49th location. The sports bar chain is known for pub fare, game-day screens and large group-friendly seating.

Fifth Avenue Sushi opens in downtown Calgary

A new sushi restaurant has opened in the former Fusion Sushi space downtown. Fifth Avenue Sushi is serving sashimi, nigiri, specialty rolls and larger plates like udon.

The restaurant is hosting its grand opening on Feb 13 and offering a four-course Valentine’s weekend set menu starting at $40 per person, along with $7 premium sake.

RUCI opens at The District at Beltline Food Hall

RUCI is now open inside The District at Beltline Food Hall serving power bowls, fresh salads and smoothies.

The concept focuses on customizable bowls and lighter, ingredient-driven options.

Men-ya Inoichi Ramen opens first Calgary location in West Springs

Kyoto-based ramen shop known for rich tonkotsu broth and char-grilled chashu is opening its first Calgary outpost this weekend. Opening weekend features buy one, get one free Original King Ramen.

L’APRÈS soft opens hidden cocktail bar downtown

A new speakeasy-style cocktail bar has opened behind an unmarked door downtown, serving house cocktails and French-inspired bites with occasional live jazz. Walk-ins only.

Thai Siam opening second Calgary location

Thai restaurant Thai Siam has confirmed plans for a second Calgary location set to open later this year.

The expansion follows strong demand at its original space, with the new outpost expected to open near CF Chinook Centre. The team says the additional location will allow more seating and improved availability for reservations and walk-ins.

Toro Toro sushi planning first Calgary location

Toronto-based sushi concept Toro Toro is preparing to open its first Western Canada location in Calgary.

The fast-casual spot focuses on sushi and poke packaged for takeout and casual dining. The new restaurant will be located in Crowfoot, with opening details expected soon.

Pho Pham preparing to open third Calgary location

Long-running Vietnamese restaurant Pho Pham has announced plans for a third Calgary location.

Hii POT Hotpot & Bubble Tea opening in Kensington

Hotpot and bubble tea concept Hii POT is opening a new location in Kensington. The menu will feature customizable hotpot options alongside fresh bubble tea.
