Haunted Houses Calgary: 5 Terrifying Attractions to Check Out This Halloween

Looking for the best haunted houses in Calgary this spooky season? From full-scale scream factories to family-run fright nights and even a haunted train ride, Calgary and the surrounding area offer something for every level of thrill-seeker. Here are the top haunted attractions to explore in 2025.

Haunted Calgary

Haunted Calgary has been a staple for over 30 years, and this season it’s haunting the historic grounds of Heritage Park. The setup is huge, with different scare zones so you can pick your poison: green for the kids, yellow if you like some jump scares, or full red-zone terror if you’re ready to run. It’s creepy, community-driven, and one of the most immersive Halloween nights in the city.

Location: Heritage Park

ScreamFest at Stampede Park

If you want the biggest Halloween party in Calgary, this is it. ScreamFest takes over GMC Stadium with six outdoor haunted houses — The Dollhouse, Slaughterhouse, Clown Town, The Clinic, Bates Motel, and Afraid of the Dark. For the bravest of the brave, Zombie Outbreak is back and it’s the only one where actors actually grab you (waiver required). There are also midway games, rides, axe throwing, and plenty of food trucks. Pro tip: Adults-Only Night on October 23 is not for the faint of heart.

Location: Stampede Park
Ages: 13+ (or at parents’ discretion)

Nightmare Creations

Run by a dedicated group of horror fans, Nightmare Creations is all about creativity and jump scares with a purpose. Every year they build new sets and storylines, and this season they’re setting up at Lions Campground in Okotoks. Bonus: proceeds help support local causes, so you can scream your lungs out and feel good about it too.

Location: Lions Campground, Okotoks
Ages: 12+ (or at parents’ discretion)

Field of Screams at Cobb’s Adventure Park

If you thought Cobb’s Adventure Park was just about kangaroos and family days, think again. When night falls, it turns into Field of Screams, a sprawling setup with six themed haunts: Buried Alive, Haunted Mansion, Mad House, Scary Tales, Aliens, and Death Trap. It’s intense, it’s creepy, and yes, there are special adults-only nights if you want the extra-scary version.
