A free night of live music, drag and family-friendly fun is coming to Bridgeland during Calgary Pride Week.
Pride Block Party returns on September 1, taking over the grounds of the Bridgeland-Riverside Community Association from 6 to 10 p.m. And this year, the longtime Pride celebration has a new home with more room for the party.
Now in its eighth year, the all-ages event brings together live entertainment, food trucks, a beer garden and activities for kids and all with free admission.
What to expect
The evening starts with DJ Joash Charles, followed by a kids’ performance before the drag show takes over at 7 p.m.
The lineup includes Karla Marx, Smokey Waters, Dayna Hart, Dmitri Dmitria and Vane Merkury, followed by live music from eight-piece R&B ensemble (un)decided.
Between performances, you can grab something from the food trucks or beer garden, while families can check out bouncy castles, face painting and other activities happening throughout the evening.
DJ Joash Charles returns for the final hour to keep the party going until 10 p.m.
