Toronto cult-favourite cookie shop Craig’s Cookies is opening in Calgary this fall

Cookie monsters, rejoice. Toronto’s most famous cookie shop is finally making its way west. Craig’s Cookies has announced that its first-ever Alberta location will open soon on 17th Avenue, right across from Tomkins Park.

Known for over-the-top flavours packed with everything from Cherry Blasters to Pop Tarts to Ferrero Rocher, Craig’s has built a reputation as one of Canada’s most playful bakeries. With more than 100 flavours in rotation, no two visits are ever the same.

Craig Pike, the man behind the brand, started baking out of his mom’s kitchen in Newfoundland and turned it into a national cookie empire that’s as much about nostalgia and joy as it is about gooey chocolate chips.

The new Calgary shop will join a lineup of locations across Ontario, but this marks the brand’s first step into Western Canada. That means YYC will finally get to see what the hype is about, and judging by the response online, people are ready.

There’s no confirmed opening date yet, but the Lower Mount Royal location is set to open soon. Until then, it’s only a matter of time before Calgarians get their first bite.
