The CPKC Holiday Train Is Back for 2025 and It’s Bringing Barenaked Ladies to Calgary

One of Calgary’s favorite holiday traditions is officially back on track. The CPKC Holiday Train has announced its 2025 schedule, and it’s rolling into Alberta this December with lights, music, and major festive vibes.

Now in its 27th year, the Holiday Train will travel across Canada and the U.S. from November 19 to December 21, spreading joy while raising money and collecting food for local food banks. Every stop features a live outdoor concert, all for a good cause, and it’s completely free to attend.

The Big News

This year’s Alberta shows will be headlined by Canadian icons Barenaked Ladies, bringing sing-along favorites and Christmas energy to every stop. Picture the train glowing with thousands of twinkling lights, a crowd bundled up in scarves, and classic tunes echoing through the night. It’s the kind of cozy, feel-good moment that makes December in Calgary special.

It’s one of those rare events that brings the entire community together. Whether you’re there for the music, the lights, or just to feel that holiday spirit, it’s guaranteed to put you in a festive mood.

Grab a hot chocolate, dress warm, and get ready to sing your heart out while a glowing train rolls by under the winter sky.
